WHY THE HIGH ATLAS?
It's the perfect, year-round destination for anyone who enjoys walking, nature, and spending time under a thousand-star sky. A trek through the spectacular High Atlas is not just one of the most scenic hikes in the world — it's also an immersion into the culture of the Berber people, the original inhabitants of Morocco. Planning Your Atlas Mountains Trek
The practical answers first-time visitors ask us most — with more detail one click away.
When to go
The best seasons are spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) — comfortable temperatures and clear skies. Summer is ideal for high-altitude routes above the Marrakech heat, and from December to February snow settles above 2,500m for winter ascents of Mount Toubkal. In short: the Atlas is a year-round destination; we adjust the route to the season.

There is a trek for every level. Gentle walks cover 2–5 hours a day on easy terrain — fine for anyone who enjoys a regular walk, and families with children from age 7. Moderate routes run 4–6 hours a day with some climbs. No experience is needed for most treks, including summer ascents of Toubkal.
See our grading system »Getting here from Marrakech
The gateway to the High Atlas is the village of Imlil — 65 km (about 1.5 hours by car) from Marrakech. We arrange private transfers from your Marrakech hotel or riad straight to the trailhead, with pick-up times built around your flights.
Transfers & transport »What's included
Trek prices typically include a licensed English-speaking mountain guide, all meals cooked fresh on trek, accommodation in gîtes, homestays or mountain refuges, mules to carry your luggage, a cook and muleteers, and Marrakech transfers. Flights, insurance and tips are not included — each tour page lists the exact details.
