Planning a Day Hike from Imlil
Imlil sits at about 1,700 m at the foot of Mount Toubkal, roughly an hour and a half by road from Marrakech, and every one of our day hikes starts here. Here is what to expect before you choose one.
Which hike suits you?
Tidli is the gentlest option, around 5 hours of easy walking. Sidi Chamharouch and the Imane Valley are classic half-day to full-day walks through villages and orchards. Tamsoult waterfall (about 8 hours) and the ISK summit at 2,500 m are longer days with real ascent. Every hike is graded, so check the grade before you book.

Spring and autumn give the most comfortable temperatures and the clearest views. Summer is hot in Marrakech but pleasant at Imlil's altitude, with early starts. In winter the valleys stay walkable while the high passes carry snow; we adapt the route to conditions.

Each hike is led by a licensed local guide who grew up in these valleys. Lunch is either a picnic on the trail or a home-cooked meal in a Berber village house, depending on the route. On many routes a mule can be arranged to carry bags or give tired legs a break. Check the Price includes box on each tour page for the exact details.
What to bring »Getting to Imlil
We can collect you from your riad or hotel in Marrakech in a private vehicle and bring you back the same evening, or meet you in Imlil if you are already staying in the valley. Several of these day hikes also work well as part of a longer stay in Imlil.
