6 Days/ 5 Nights
Venture into one of Morocco's most enigmatic mountain ranges on this 6-day trek through Jebel Saghro. Situated between the High Atlas and Sahara, this ancient volcanic massif offers a perfect winter and spring hiking escape. Trek through dramatic landscapes of towering rock spires, hidden oases, and palm-fringed gorges whilst experiencing the authentic nomadic culture of the Aït Atta people who have called these mountains home for centuries.
This carefully crafted journey takes you deep into Morocco's hidden corner, where volcanic peaks meet desert horizons. Beginning in the lush Dades Valley, you'll trek through an ever-changing landscape that tells the story of Morocco's geological drama. Each day brings new wonders: ancient volcanic chimneys pierce the sky, secret valleys reveal themselves, and traditional mud-brick villages cling to cliffsides.
The route follows ancient nomadic paths, crossing high plateaus and descending into gardens of pomegranate and fig trees. You'll wild camp in remote valleys and share mint tea with local shepherds. The highlight comes with the ascent of Mount Kouaouch, offering views that capture the essence of Morocco's wild beauty - where the Atlas Mountains' snowy peaks fade into the Sahara's golden expanse.
Perfect for winter and spring hiking, when the climate is mild and the light perfect for photography, this trek offers a genuine adventure far from the well-trodden trails of the High Atlas. Our experienced guides share stories of local traditions, geology, and the resilient nomadic culture that gives these mountains their soul.
