Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Marrakech to Imi Oughlad. Trek through stunning mountain landscapes to Tizi n'Tachte pass, enjoying a picnic lunch at Imi n'Ifri before descending to the traditional village of Tiziane. Walking time: 5 hours
Trek through the beautiful Assif n'Ait Oussaden valley, passing ancient walnut groves en route to Tizi n'Taghrhourte. After lunch at Assaka spring, continue to the authentic Berber village of D'knt. Walking time: 6 hours
Traverse picturesque farmland and mountain paths to Tizi n'Tagdalte. Enjoy lunch by a spring surrounded by juniper trees before descending to Tizi Oussem and climbing to the summer village of Tamsoult. Walking time: 6 hours
Trek eastward to Tizi Aguelzim, enjoying increasingly dramatic high-mountain scenery before reaching Toubkal Refuge, your base for the summit attempt. Walking time: 5 hours
Begin your summit bid before dawn, reaching North Africa's highest point for a spectacular sunrise. Descend via Sidi Chamharouch shrine to Imlil, then transfer back to Marrakech. Walking time: 8-9 hours

This trek requires good fitness and some mountain walking experience. While no technical climbing is involved, the summit day involves 8-9 hours of walking at high altitude (up to 4,167m). The first three days in the valleys help with acclimatisation.
Essential equipment includes:
April to October is ideal. July-August can be very hot in the valleys but comfortable at height. Winter ascents (November-March) require winter mountaineering experience and additional equipment.
The route is designed to aid acclimatisation, with the first three days spent trekking at moderate altitudes. However, some people may experience mild symptoms at the refuge (3,207m) or during summit day. Our guides are trained to monitor and manage altitude-related issues.
No - mules carry your main luggage. You'll carry a daypack with water, snacks, camera, and weather protection layers.
Villages have basic shared facilities. The Toubkal Refuge has shared toilets and basic washing facilities. During day hikes, facilities are limited to nature.
While Toubkal is a non-technical climb, it involves high-altitude walking on steep, rocky terrain. Our experienced guides ensure safety, but you should be comfortable with mountain walking and heights.
