Embark on an extraordinary winter adventure to conquer North Africa's two highest peaks. This exhilarating five-day journey takes you through the snow-draped Atlas Mountains, where you'll tackle both Mount Toubkal (4,167m) and the twin summits of Ouanakrim (4,089m). Based from the remote Toubkal Refuge, you'll experience the raw beauty of Morocco's winter wilderness, just 90 minutes from vibrant Marrakech.
This challenging winter trek delivers an authentic high-altitude adventure in the heart of Morocco's most dramatic mountain range. Beginning in the village of Imlil, your journey ascends through the pristine Mizane Valley, where traditional Berber communities have thrived for centuries. The snow-clad route leads to the Toubkal Refuge, your remote mountain basecamp for three nights of high-altitude exploration.
The trek's crescendo includes two remarkable summit attempts. First, you'll tackle the twin peaks of Ouanakrim, offering an excellent opportunity to acclimatise while mastering winter mountaineering techniques. The grand finale is the ascent of Mount Toubkal itself, where dawn breaks over a landscape stretching from the Mediterranean to the Sahara. Throughout the expedition, you'll be supported by our experienced local guides, whose intimate knowledge of these peaks ensures both your safety and a deep connection to the mountains' cultural heritage.
This expedition requires previous experience with crampons and ice axes, as winter conditions demand technical skill and physical endurance. However, the reward is an unforgettable journey through one of North Africa's most spectacular winter landscapes, where traditional mountain life meets world-class mountaineering.
