Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech to Ouarzazate

Your adventure begins with a transfer from Marrakech to Ouarzazate, where you'll be greeted by your expert guide. After settling into your comfortable 3-star hotel, you'll have free time to explore this gateway to the Sahara. Dinner is at your leisure, allowing you to sample local cuisine or relax at the hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate to Taghbalt

After breakfast, you'll embark on a scenic minibus journey to Agdz, following the stunning Draa Valley oasis. The route takes you through Tazzarine before reaching the village of Taghbalt. Here, you'll set up camp and meet your friendly camel handlers. A short 1.5 to 2-hour walk will help you stretch your legs and acclimatize to the desert environment.

Day 3: Taghbalt to Foum Tizza

The day starts with a gentle walk through the Taghbalt oasis before venturing onto the desert plateau of Toubkal. Your journey continues along a sandy ridge, culminating in the spectacular rocky dune massif of Foum Tizza. You'll spend two nights camping in the heart of these mesmerizing dunes, with a 4 to 4.5-hour walk today.

Day 4: Exploring Foum Tizza and Djebel Amgharfi

Today's circular hike takes you through the Djebel Amgharfi mountain, known for its sandy canyons. You'll descend the northern slope, enjoy a picnic in nature, cross the desert plateau, and return to your camp. The walk lasts 4 to 4.5 hours. In the evening, cooking enthusiasts can participate in a Moroccan cuisine workshop at the camp, with the chance to savor your creations at dinner.

Day 5: Iferd to Agdz Palmeraie

Begin the day with a morning hike to the village of Iferd. After a picnic lunch, you'll transfer by minibus to the lush Draa Valley. Your accommodation tonight is in a traditional kasbah auberge, complete with a pool and garden. In the afternoon, explore an ancient mud-brick village before enjoying dinner at the auberge.

Day 6: Tamnougalt Exploration

Start your day with breakfast at the kasbah, followed by an artisan demonstration of local crafts such as pottery, basketry, or bread baking. After a picnic lunch, embark on an afternoon walk through the palm grove, discovering mud-brick villages nestled in the heart of the oasis. Return to the kasbah for dinner and another comfortable night's stay.

Day 7: Agdz to Ouarzazate

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the kasbah and take a final stroll through the palm oasis. You'll then transfer to Agdz for lunch before continuing to Ouarzazate. Arriving in the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore or relax. Spend the night in a 3-star hotel, with dinner at your leisure.

Day 8: Return to Marrakech

After breakfast, bid farewell to the desert as you transfer back to Marrakech, marking the end of your family's Moroccan adventure.
